It’s hard to believe the first Dark MOFO was only just over 2 years ago. It feels like it’s been on the calendar for a lot longer. This festival, just like it’s warmer brother MONA FOMA, have continued to cement Tasmania on the international arts map.
During the first Dark MOFO, we were commissioned to capture the Rekorderlig pop up winter bar that was erected just outside Mac 2. dhab studios had completed a full concept, design & construct and it was a pleasure to shoot the event.
Just as the clouds broke, were able to capture one of the first full length shots of Ryoji Ikeda’s, Spectra light installation from the summit of Mt Wellington. To this day, we have not had an image that has blown up quite as much. We even made it into God / David Walsh’s autobiography!
Not to be outdone, Nick captured a cracker timelapse on the morning of the Winter solstice… The Darkest Rise.
